Find your own rocks, gems and minerals.
Our knowledgeable gemologists and staff will help you find and identify your many treasures.

Lucky Lake Gem and Mineral Mine is open for individuals, families and schools.  Sift through your bucket to find a treasure trove of colored gems, minerals, and local granite.

Experience the excitement of prospecting through your bucket and finding treasures sitting at our partially covered flume. Our modern handicapped accessible flume makes a visit to Lucky Lake an easy way to discover some of the earth’s many treasures. We can be limited by weather, so please check to see if we are open before making your trip!

Lucky Lake Gem and Mineral Mine was discovered by sheer luck.  While creating an honorary lake on the property, rocks and colored stones were found.  This led to our recreational gem mine as well as the discovery of significant pegmatites running through the property. These pegmatites are where the majority of gems and minerals are found.

From garnets and rubies, smokey quartz and tourmaline, to a variety of jaspers and agates; you are sure to find gems to intrigue and delight.  We have associates available inside and out to help you find all of your treasures, identify them, and even help you to decide what to cut and mount into beautiful jewelry.

If playing in the dirt and water isn’t your thing, our gift shop is filled with unusual treasures that will take your breath away.

Check out activities page to see our opening schedule. We look forward to seeing you at the flume!
